Sue Liberman and the grants committee once again diligently combed through the RFPs, to find 8 worthy local and international nonprofits.  The Rotary Club of Charlottesville awarded $14,000 dollars in grant money.

Every year The Rotary Club of Charlottesville receives requests for grant money from many organizations that look to improve the community around them. In this process our club strivs to support community directed projects and to help those in need. Awards are generally $500 up to $4,000, or they may include a request for volunteer labor.
The grants committee once again diligently combed through proposals to find 8 worthy local and international nonprofits.  The Rotary Club of Charlottesville awarded $14,000 dollars in grant money to the following organizations:
  • Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to help provide more books to more children
  • The Sexual Assault Resource Agency to benefit prevention education
  • Service Dogs of Virginia to help offset cost of advanced training
  • African Peace Partners for sustainable clean water in Rwanda
  • The International Rescue Committee to establish an intensive case management emergency assistance fund
  • Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry for the purchase of a volunteer management system
  • Jefferson Area CHIP to help provide educational materials for family/child home visits
  • New Geneartion Peace Builders for global youth peace education
It is a great privilage for our club to help these organization in the work and services they provide the community.
