Rotary Global Grant Scholarship - AY2021-2022

This week, we are proud to feature Anna Cerf as a recipient of the 2021-2022 Rotary Global Grant Scholarship.

Anna Cerf is a civil and environmental engineer from Edina, Minnesota. Anna, a Jefferson and Rodman Scholar, graduated from the University of Virginia in 2020 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minor in Urban Planning. Since graduating, she has worked as an intern for the Environmental Defense Fund and as an environmental engineer at SCS Engineers. At SCS Engineers, she focuses on pollution remediation and mitigation near landfills. In her free time, Anna enjoys hiking and swimming.

Next year, Anna will begin a Master's in Water Resource Engineering at the University of Stuttgart in Germany as a Rotary Global Grant Scholar. Anna is sponsored by the Arlington Rotary Club and District 7610. She will complete coursework in water and wastewater sanitation, groundwater management, and hydraulic engineering. Anna's presentation will cover her background in environmental engineering from water treatment to the solid waste industry. She will also discuss her planned research in advanced water treatment of emerging contaminants at the University of Stuttgart. 

This meeting will be held in-person at the Omni Downtown Charlottesville Hotel, with a cocktail half-hour starting at 5:30pm, and the meeting beginning at 6:00pm. We also plan to offer a virtual/hybrid meeting option. We will have a Zoom option for those who cannot attend in-person. Follow this Zoom link to access the meeting, starting at 6:00pm.
